Imagine this…. “At this moment I am in the living room of my mother in Santa Fe, looking out the window as thick snow flakes gently fall. Since I live in Atlanta, this is even a surprise to me – a white Christmas could be the norm for most of the country this year, but it looks like Atlanta is in the shop instead of a wet Christmas.

So, needless to say, the falling snow is exciting for me and my family, except for one thing: we freeze! ”

Fortunately there are better ways than to run hot on the thermostat. And one of them is eating meals that are naturally warm you up. If you find you chilled to the bone, try these tips to your food warm from the inside:

Eat What’s in Season
There is a reason that root vegetables are at their peak as the weather turns cooler: Chinese medicine believes that food grown in the soil warming food. Try the hearty winter squash boiled or steamed greens.

Eat Foods that take longer to grow
There is a belief that food that a longer growth period, are warming more than those harvested earlier. This is part of the reason why the above squash and root vegetables are good to eat during cold weather. Animal protein, including fish, chicken, beef and pork, are nourishing and warming during cold weather, while vegetarians can also onions, garlic, nuts and eggs enjoy.

Spice It Up
Season your food with natural warming spices such as chile powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger (fresh or ground) and curry powder. This warming spices can stimulate blood circulation and many can also stimulate your immune system. Add chili powder to casseroles, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over oatmeal or baked goods, and head to your favorite restaurant for spicy Thai or Indian curry or noodle dishes (or create them yourself).

Enjoy liquid based foods
Dehydration is something we care about in the summer than in winter, but you can easily dehydrated in cold weather, too. That is why eating soups and stews, and drinking hot drinks like tea or hot cider, especially good for you. Plus, the warmth of these foods and beverages will automatically raise your internal temperature.

Consume Whole Grains
Cooked oatmeal cereal in the morning, stew barley, brown rice, whole wheat pasta or quinoa for lunch or dinner – are all great choices for winter meals. These complex carbohydrates can help warm your body fuel to the cold, especially if you’re planning a sort of outdoor activity, be it skiing or shovel the driveway.

Now that winter is in full swing, these foods help you stay warm and toasty during the long months ahead.

What do you eat your food warm?

Many of us are too long between meals and then we will reach a quick solution that is loaded with carbohydrates. The problem with doing this is that only spikes our blood sugar then causes it to drop dramatically. Foods high in sugar, like cookies, white bread, chips and soft drinks have virtually no nutritional value and only add empty calories to your daily intake is just that your risk always to obtain the weight and getting diabetes.

It is relatively easy to prevent these desires and urges as you will be disciplined and follow a few simple guidelines.

I recommend you break your meals into four to six meals evenly throughout the day so you eat something every 2-3 hours. How you do this will depend on your metabolism and your activity level. This will stabilize your blood sugar, keep your metabolism at an optimum level and reduce cravings.

Another thing to do is clean a house. You should go in your cupboard and your fridge and throw all the bad things, like chips and cookies and all white foods because they are refined. Try to pure fruit juices and not those of the store with sugar added.

If you can only make three simple meals that you keep a sort of healthy snack with your nuts, fresh fruit, low fat and protein drinks. This allows you to pop coins into a snack machine and eat some junk in the nutritional value of cardboard plus it will make you feel better and keep you energetic throughout the day.

Cut back on caffeine and that has not only coffee, but diet drinks and tea also. Avoid the new fitness drinks like Red Bull, they all contain artificial stimulants will give you a quick rush that soon will fall plus they can be dangerous. You do not stop cold turkey. If you are one of those four or five drinks diet drinks one days or three to four cups of coffee just start cutting them in half.

The bottom line is that by eating healthier you get the energy you’re looking at better health food you give your body. It is not happening at night a little adjustment for your body will take to respond. If you work better, I go on a four to seven day fast of water and organic juice to cleanse your body and prepare for the new lifestyle, especially if you are eating really bad. As always, drink plenty of water to flush toxins from your body to stay hydrated and help.

One of the biggest problems people seem to have that on a weight loss diet is the selection of food they will be allowed to eat. Not to mention, the choice of food they will not be allowed to eat. With some unbalanced diets (eg low carb) this may be true.

With The Diet will Lose Weight, It is false.

The great fear of some people is that they were tired or bored of eating the same food over healthy food and weather. Some people can even so far to say that it is impossible to consistently eat the same few healthy foods every day for a long period without having to go from the diet, or just go crazy. Well, first, that not quite true.

For the most part, I eat the same foods at the same times the same day each week / month / year, and thus for years. I realize how crazy it sounds to some people, but for me there is nothing wrong with that. It is very convenient and easy. Plus, I really like the food I eat. I am very pleased with this food. Indeed, that is why I give them a part of my diet in the first place.

I’m certainly not telling anyone to eat like this, and you certainly do not have to. I’m just saying some people just are not that much variation in their nutritional needs.

If you happen to like it too, great.

However, if the type of person who does not want variation in your diet weight loss because you would get tired of eating the same foods over and again, then this list is for you.

I have food in 3 separate categories:
- Good sources of protein
- Good sources of carbohydrates
- Good sources of fat

But remember the key to Lose Weight Diet (or any weight loss diet for that matter) is the total calories consumed. As you learned in Phase 1, weight loss happens when you are in a calorie deficit, meaning you take in fewer calories than your maintenance level and thus burn more calories than you consume.

So, while the food on this list, all great additions to make to your diet (for both weight loss and health around), make sure you within your calorie range. Try also close to the guidelines proposed in Phase 2 about how much protein, carbs and fat your diet should consist of.

Healthy Weight

Try your weight at a healthy level. As you get older, if you are overweight this will affect your mobility, which can affect your health and your quality of life. Being overweight increases the risk of diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

Similarly, sudden weight loss is not healthy and may indicate that you do not eat enough food or that you’re not good.

If you go ask your doctor to check. He or she may refer you to a dietitian who can advise you on changing what you eat to your current needs.

Eat less

As you get older it is natural to start eating less because you’re less physically active and so your body will adapt and adjust your overall food intake accordingly.

You will find it difficult to tolerate the meals you used to eat. Try smaller meals more frequently and with nutritious snacks. Also make sure you drink lot of fluids. Drinking enough.

It is important to eat regularly, at least three times a day. You can not always feel like cooking, so you could increase your intake of canned, frozen and chilled ready-prepared meals.

Always make sure you heat chilled and frozen food until it’s steaming hot all the way through.

A store of food in the freezer and cupboard in case you are unable to go.

You might eat less because you find you difficult to buy or prepare food or you’re finding it harder to get around if your conditions, including arthritis.

You can help with these problems by getting your doctor.

Dental health can affect nutritional health. Make sure you regularly visit your dentist for your teeth in good condition. If you have trouble chewing, you might try eating canned or stewed fresh fruit and vegetables, which are still good sources of nutrients.

Keeping Safe Food

As you get older is it harder for your body to fight infection, especially if you’re already sick. So take extra care to avoid food poisoning by making sure you have washed your hands and cleaned any work surfaces, utensils and cutting boards. For refrigerated food that is ready-made, it is important to the storage instructions on the label and always follow food use by its’ expiry date.

Some bacteria, like listeria can cause food poisoning in people with reduced immunity, particularly those over 60. People with impaired immunity among those who have transplants, taking medications that weaken the immune system or cancer affecting the immune system, such as leukemia or lymphoma.

These people should avoid eating pasteurized and unpasteurized soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert (and others who have a similar skin), soft blue cheese, and all types of pâté, including vegetable, because these foods may contain listeria.

Protein diets have attracted much attention in recent years. The rationale behind high protein diet is that carbohydrates cause fluctuations in blood sugar that can stimulate your body to create body fat. Complex carbohydrates like rice and pasta are particularly highlighted as an easy way to many calories that your body will convert into fat. The focus of this high protein diet is focused on the consumption of protein and carbohydrate intake attempts to minimize.

What do you eat on a typical high-protein days?

A typical protein diet breakfast, bacon and eggs. You are not allowed to have toast and juice. For lunch you could double cheeseburger (no bun) and a small salad. During dinner, just eat as much of the meat of your choice when it comes to you to fill. You can compliment this meal with salad more if you wish. In principle, all foods with sugar, are starchy vegetables and grains and vegetables are not allowed.

Protein Diets and loss of weight due to loss of water weight

A diet high in protein may cause large fluctuations in blood sugar. Protein diet may also lead to a faster than average weight. This is largely due to loss of water weight. After healthy amounts of carbohydrates in tissues of the body stimulates your body to store water, which is healthy and necessary. If you drastically reduce the amount of carbohydrates in your body, then you retain less water. The catch is that when you start eating carbohydrates again (as almost everyone does), you get the water weight back.

Problems with the high protein diet

Another important consideration is that excess calories from all sources (protein, fat or carbohydrates), will be converted into fat by your body. Your body does not care what the source of excess calories, it just knows that he has more calories available than it needs to burn, so the excess calories stored as fat. Carbohydrates are not bad.

Another problem with this diet is that it can lead to over consumption of cholesterol. All that meat and cheese, which is allowed by the diet, can be very unhealthy. This diet may also lead to kidney problems because of the low carbohydrate intake, and since carbohydrates are a source of energy, can not eat them allow you weak.
