Low-carbohydrate diets (low carb diets) are the latest fashions in the fight for fitness. But like any diet, also have their pros and cons.

Has recently emerged, apparently, an obsession with carbohydrates blame all the ills of mankind. And the result is that everyone seems to be in a low-carbohydrate diet for one reason or another. For many, it seems the only effective way to lose weight and shape the figure. Others accuse them of all their physical problems.

The truth is that many do not really know anything about carbohydrates and the effects of consumption, or lack thereof. Most are simply caught in the idea that a drastic reduction in carbohydrates is the way to get quickly and without much effort the perfect physique that everyone desires.

But we should, before making decisions or hold opinions that may be wrong, better informed about the characteristics of carbohydrates, their functions and, mainly, on the advantages and complications that these diets entail.

The truth is that these diets are not perfect nor a cluster of distinct advantages. They, like everything else, their strengths and weaknesses. So if we know what we’re trying, we make a conscious decision on our health and what we do with it.

And, if we decide to take the path that we are offered with reduced carbohydrate, at least we have the tools to reduce negative effects caused by his fault.

Initially, we will start seeing the strong points that make this type of diet on the favorites of the moment. There are some really positive points to reduce or eliminate our consumption of carbohydrates, but never lose sight that there are also many negative points, we’ll see a little later.
